Travels
I had the opportunity to visit the Mt. Shasta Brewing Company. Although I thought it would be a pub, not a bar/tasting room in the warehouse. The good news is the beer is good.
1 porter "new" favorite and 5 versions of golden/amber/ipa. all tastey. The filled up my growler, see previous picture.
I also had the opportunity to go to Steelhead brewer. Although is smells like fish (or cooked fish and as a hater of fish smell) the staff was friendly. The darkiest beer they had was a nut brown and 5 versions of golden/amber/ipa, - the two tasters i had were good.
LONG LIVE THE BEER

Goodbye Siskiyou & Hello Jefferson State Brewpub.
I guess good'ol Patrick at the good'ol Siskiyou pub finally called it quits and sold the former Rogue Brewery on Water Street in Ashland. I was just having a tasty-brew at the Bier Stein (highly recommended) here in Eugene and I overheard the new owner talking the Siskiyou. Hes renovating the old place, powerwashing the deck, and bringing in a whole new collection of micros from throughout the "State of Jefferson" for us to enjoy. It's slated to open around Fathers day.
I'm sad to see Patrick go but am also looking foward to checking out the new diggs.
I have fond memories of spending MANY an evening on the Siskiyou with all the worthwhile peeps in Ashland.
I'd like to give a big frothy belch-salute to the "Skew". *braaap*
Has anyone been brave enough to quaff an Undercover Ale? I had a taste of it last night and it just about blew my socks off. It's something like 10% and would have put me under the table so I passed on it... for now.
Evidently the Lagunitas brewery was shut down after an undercover sting revealed that they were allowing customers to openly smoke dope and (alledged) underage drinking. It resulted in a 20 day closure and a new beer to commemorate.
