Porter

I opened a bottle of this porter. It was a great first taste and flavor, but the end flavor of that first taste, is rather beery and disappoints. Every taste followed suit. I wanted it to taste good. I am hoping it was a bottle fluke.

Kent Lake Kolsch Ale

Brethern,

I picked up a 22 ounce bottle of Iron Springs Brewery's Kent Lake Kolsch Ale while on vacation. It’s an unusual beer. It’s lemony in color and cloudy, a beautiful looking beer. Beer to mouth, you can taste the wheat, but it’s not as heavy as a Hefeweizen. The front end was nice, but the back end lacked distinction. I wanted a lemon to go with the brew, but once the citrus was added, the beer still need a little more.

It’s a nice beer well matched for a warm day, but I probably won’t buy another bottle.

Cheers,

RD
