Oatmeal Ellie

Seeing a new oatmeal stout at the beer store I was excited to try it.
Sadly that excitement ended when I opened it.
This beer tasted terrribly young at best. There was a hint of wonderful flavor, but it was masked in a sugary and over sweet flavor. I could not get a decent aroma. I even poured it in a glass, hoping it would disturb the beer and bring out the hint, but to no avail. I may give it a try later, but avoid this beer. I would really like to hope it is a bad batch.

Pliny the Elder

I swear I have had a posting about Pliny before, but I couldn't locate it when looked through old post (not that I looked terribly long).
But since I was given the heads up about the small bottle shop having some, I went the next morning and bought 3 of the 6 bottles they had. The wife was surprised only 3.
This beer is a one the best beers I have ever had. A smooth and tasty IPA. The aroma invites you to drink more. It comes in 16 oz bottle and at 8% it is just the right amount of beer in a bottle.
Highly recommended
