I went to the Bend Beer Festival in August, but was just as I was ready to sit down and write about it, life threw me a little curve ball,
But better late than never.
I could list all the breweries there, but I think I am just going to name the beer and breweries I sampled
Ashtown Brewing Company-Red Tape Raspberry Wheat Ale- second best raspberry beer at the festival
Breakside Brewery- Breakside IPA- a good beer
Bridge 99 Brewery- Bull Trout Stout- a good beer (but not good as there other stout, but good)
Burnside Brewing Company-Lime Kolsch- a good beer, but the lime did not come across
Fechin Irish Brewery- Irish Gold - a great beer
Firestone Walker - Wooley Jack- okay
Flat Tail Brewing- Tailgater Kolsch- a good light drinkable beer.
Fort George Brewing - Divinity- a good beer (always impressed with their beers)
Gilgamesh Brewing - Vader- not good, something was off. I had the beer last year and loved it. I now buy it in bottles it is so good. Disappointed most likely a bad batch
Hop Valley Brewing - Hop Valley Sir Orange A lot- a good beer, still no Tangerine Wheat
Hopworks Urban Brewery - Radler - the last beer i had at the festival, but a great refreshing beer. Another brewery that always impresses. This shandy was great.
Juniper Brewing Company - Jolly Black - a good beer
Klamath Basin Brewing - Breakfast Blend Coffee IPA - last year McMenamins did a similar and I loved it. This year Klamath tried it and nailed it. This is odd, because Klamath is
so hit or miss it usually not worth tasting. I am glad I took the risk.
Logsdon Farmhouse Ales - Seizoen Bretta- I did not care for it and would not recommend
Mazama Brewing Company - Rasplendent - another great raspberry beer
Oblivion Brewing Company - Backside IPA - a well made IPA
Orlison Brewing Company - Underground Stout - a young and underwhelming beer
Pfriem Family Brewers - Belgian Strong Dark - just an okay beer
Rusty Truck Brewing Company - Moonlight Ride Blackberry Ale - okay beer, not enough blackberry on the first couple of taste, but kind of sneaks in there in later taste
The Dudes Brewing Company - Grandma's Pecan Brown - a okay brown, but the pecan flavor was off and sweetness of the beer was off
Vertigo Brewing - Razz Wheat- the best Raspberry at the festival, went back for seconds.
Wild Ride Brewing - Mount Up Maple Brown- a good smell and flavor
Those were the beers I remembered having. The people and the t-shirts from different breweries was great conversaions
