Hop Czar

While in the local grocer, a label with a hop bearing czar caught my attention. A new beer from Bridgeport? The "Robust Ruler of all IPA's? 7.5% Alcohol by volume? I carried a six pack back to the Church.

It's not the beer I expected. It is not an extreme hopped beer. It is a full flavored beer. It triple hopped with three malts and four types of hops.

Hop Czar hints of green hops and is not overly bitter. I find it crisp and smooth on the back end. It is not overly heavy. I could have two without being overwhelmed.

Enjoy,
RD

Bridgeport Imperial Porter

"Raven Mad" Imperial Porter by Bridgeport. A 7.8% porter surprise. The surprise...it is aged both in an oak bourbon barrel and an oak wine barrel. It was smooth, but just had such strong unusual flavor. I tasted porter, but it is hard to make out any real other flavors. It is drinkable and well put together, but needs a little more tweaking to get more of the rich porter flavors that Bridgeport is capable of. It also came with a 3-d glasses and a 3-d label.
